    The Electoral Commission of Ghana will on Monday, November 23, hold a press conference to update the nation on its preparedness ahead of the December 7 elections. With two weeks to the polls, the Commission is expected to let Ghanaians know the plans put together to have a successful presidential and parliamentary election The press conference is expected to start at 4pm.     Deputy Special Prosecutor Ms Jane Cynthia Naa Torshie Lamptey, has been asked to act as Special Prosecutor until a substantive one is appointed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo following the resignation of Mr Martin Amidu from the post. Ms Lamptey is a lawyer of over 30 years standing at the Ghana Bar and former acting Director of Public Prosecutions.     The Executive Secretary of the Small Arms Commission has appealed to politicians to ensure that ballots are counted in the elections and not bullets. Jones Applerh urged them to be measured in their language and the electioneering to ensure they did not incite anyone into violence to trigger the use of guns. Mr. Applerh said this during the “Ballots without Bullets” campaign in the Jirapa Municipality of the Upper West Region.   • NIGERIA: Two Polytechnic Final Students Die In An Accident On Graduation Ceremony (Pictures)

    Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, was thrown into mourning on Friday, November 13 after some of the graduating students of the institution lost their lives in a road crash while going for their graduation party. Naija News understands that Annabel Ogaga Akpofure and Oke Melissa died in a horrible accident that reportedly involved a tricycle and a Lexus Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) car.   • WEIJA-GBAWE: Taxi Driver Found Dead (Pictures)

    A taxi driver has been found dead at a dumpsite at Weija-Gbawe in the Greater Accra Region. According to reports, the taxi driver has been missing for days until his body, was discovered at the dumpsite with his taxi parked not too far from him. Little is known of events that led to his death, but the last time he was spotted was over the weekend parking his vehicle. The couple is said to have engaged in a heated argument after the deceased’s wife demanded a divorce. The body has since been deposited at the morgue awaiting autopsy. His friend identified as yaw is said to have picked a ladle and started stirring a saucepan containing meat continuously to the disappointment of Adu-Gyamfi who in return asked him to stop since the meat was for the public.
