LOCAL NEWS: "The Country Has A 2 Tier System" - Kojo Oppong Nkrumah


The Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has hinted that Ghana will not restrict any flight from different countries from touching base in the country.

According to him, the country has adopted its own measures adding all cards remains on the table.


Addressing Journalists in Accra on Tuesday, The Minister for Information said "All cards remain on the table. We must understand that various countries have various ways of dealing with the covid"

He added that the country has a 2 tier system in the country.


"Before you come to Ghana, you have to test negative through a PCR before you are allowed to come to Ghana" he hinted.


Kojo Oppong Nkrumah also revealed that passengers who arrive in the country are mandated to do an antigen test which takes 15 minutes.


Touching on the reopening of schools, he explained that cabinet will be meeting on the 30th December to decide on the way forward.


"The President will be receiving briefs and analysis. By the 30th, the President will update us on whether it will be opened or not" he added.

In other developments, Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Kuma Aboagye also revealed that it has been engaging the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and organizing a routine test for them.


"There are measures on test to ensure that there are no spreads. We are actually working with the GFA. We have specific people assigned to check their day to day activities" he noted.
