President of Ghana's Creative Art Industry, Mark Okraku Mantey has acknowledged receipt of Government’s GHc50 Million promise aimed at boosting the sector. According to him, his board has met with the sector Minister, Barbara Oteng-Gyasi of which new measures have been put in place. Speaking on an Accra-based radio station, Mr. Okraku Mantey said "Hon. Barbara Oteng Gyasi, Minister for Tourism and Creative Arts, met with leadership of the Creative Arts to talk over how the money will be shared and used for its intended purpose" Weeks ago, Ghana's Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta in his 2020 mid-year budget review mentioned that government has allocated GHc50 Million to cushion the Creative Arts and Media. - Youths Storm Drinking Spots, As President Lifts Ban (+ Pictures)
Some scores of Youths on Sunday stormed various drinking spots across the nation's capital to jubilate following the easing of restrictions by the first gentleman of the land, Nana Akufo-Addo. With what seems to be an Independence Day, some sections of the youth drank, dance and partied hard till 4am of Monday morning. At 'Junction Mall', 'Marvelous' and 'Care plan', all drinking spots in Taifa, a community in Accra, ThinkNewsOnline can confirm, most youths were without nose mask, face shield, sanitizers and also flouted the social distancing directives. It will be recalled that President Akufo-Addo ban the opening of drinking spots and pubs due the increasing number of COVID-19 cases which were been recorded in the country. While some drinking spot owners were adhering to the directive by closing their shops, others brushed aside President Akufo-Addo's directives saying they will operate with or without covid-19. Pubs around Bubiashie, Osu, East Legon, Lapaz , Kasoa were filled with people of which majority were youths. The behavior of some youths at the various drinking spots left some elderly persons who patronised these joints wondered whether the lifting of the ban was a mistake or not. - "Bernice Alcohol Based Hand Sanitizer Is Safe For Use" - FDA Confirms
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), Delese Mimi Darko has confirmed her outfit has approved of 'Bernice Alcohol Based Hand Sanitizer', a sanitizer which was purported to contain acid, saying it is now safe for use. According to her, after countless number of tests, the FDA has found the sanitizer compliant with test parameters. The FDA assures the public that 'Bernice Alcohol Based Hand Sanitizer' has passed all tests and as such is safe for use" The statement tasked the general public to access FDA's website and various social media pages for frequent updates on approved hand sanitizers.
