The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Saboba District Assembly in the Northern Region, George Bingrini has provided three free canoes and vehicles to transport the 200 final year Junior High School (JHS) who got stranded over the Bagre Dam spillage few days ago.
According to him, although the dam has caused lots of problem, he could not afford to watch the future of the kids to go wasted hence the gesture.
He said “The Assembly has been able to get 3 canoes and some live jackets to evacuate the students to the other side of the river so they can participate in the BECE examination"
The DCE also mentioned that the spillage has caused lots of troubles in the community adding measures must be put in place to curb the annual crisis.
The students were however grateful for the support and promised to pass with flying colours.
