Isabella Anna Adusei-Bediako, Presiding Officer at the Kwabenya Police Station-Atomic polling center, has refuted claims made by Michael Aaron Oquaye Jnr., NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency, alleging that an official was dismissed for tampering with ballot papers during the special voting exercise on Monday.

Michael Oquaye Jr. had accused an election official of pre-tearing and stamping multiple ballot papers before handing them to voters, describing the alleged act as a breach of electoral protocols that could encourage malpractice.

However, Madam Adusei-Bediako and other Electoral Commission (EC) representatives categorically denied the allegations, stating, "Nothing of that sort happened."

The EC reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the electoral process and adhering to established rules.

Mr. Oquaye Jr. underscored the importance of procedure in voting, saying, "The rules are straightforward: voter verification must precede the issuance of ballot papers."

The EC has assured the public of its dedication to transparency and accountability throughout the electoral process, ensuring fair and credible elections.
