Ghana's Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh is calling on the general public to do away with the stigmatization of persons who have been affected and recovered from the novel coronavirus. According to him, stigmatizing and making mockery of the affected and recovered will go a long way to negatively affected the individual(s). In a Facebook post sighted by ThinkNewsOnline, the Education Minister said "#StopStigmatisation As a society, we must do more to avoid stigmatizing those who contract and recover from the dreadful Covid-19 virus." Information reaching ThinkNewsOnline indicates that the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) has issued an arrest warrant for Samuel Adam Fosters also known as Samuel Adam Mahama in relation to his role in the famous Airbus bribery saga. The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has descended heavily on the Presidential Candidate of the largest opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama saying bringing on board a woman as his running mate will not brighten his political fortunes ahead of the upcoming December general elections. According to him, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang who was recently selected as the running mate for the NDC party has nothing to offer adding that candidate, Mahama cannot even win the December 2020 polls. Speaking on an Accra-based television, Mr. Agyapong said “So now when you come with a woman and you think the woman will brighten your political fortunes you are lying, you cannot win" He added that Professor Naana Opoku-Agyemang cannot even match the current Vice President, Dr. Bawumia of the ruling New Patriotic Party on any day stressing that she can only be compared to Ghana's Education Minister, Matthew Opoku Prempeh. The deceased, Nathaniel Yankey, is said to have complained of headache and later passed on at the hospital. His sudden death comes just a week after a final year student of KNUST Senior High School, Richard Sam, also died. The 2016 Vice Presidential Candidate of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), Brigette Dzogbenuku has cautioned the various political parties to stop underestimate the capabilities the newly selected running mate of the largest opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.
