  • ECG Releases ‘Dumsor’ Timetable; Outages To Begin May 10 (Pictures)

    The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has released a timetable to guide the disruptions in power supply in parts of the Greater Accra Region. This follows what it says are ongoing system improvement works on the Pokuase Bulk Supply Point. In a press release, ECG stated that the project will require a complete shutdown of the 330kv transmission line thereby affecting power supply and reliability to the Mallam Bulk Supply Point.     A 50-year-old man, Wisdom Okoro, broke down in tears when police arrested him over a fatal abortion. Police operatives attached to the Ikorodu Division of the Lagos State Police Command arrested the suspect on April 11, 2021, for the sudden death of his girlfriend identified as Enobong Udoh, 38. One Blessing Pius, reported to the police that Enobong Udoh, was found dead in her house.   • Palm Wine Tapper Found Dead With Head Missing

    A man believed to be in his 50’s has been found dead with his head missing on a farm at Dunkwa Asoboa in the Upper Denkyira East District of the Central Region. According to reports gathered, the man was alleged to have been killed and dumped in the bush with his head severed for alleged money rituals. The body has been physically identified by his family without the head as Agya Manu, a popular palm wine tapper in the area. They thought he was on his way home and will be at the church after them, but the service ended at noon and the man was still not among the congregation.     At least 22 coronavirus patients have died in India following Oxygen supply. The incident accordingly occurred in a hospital in western India’s Maharashtra state.   • Minister For Education Meets GES Staff

    The Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, met Management and Staff of GES in a durbar at the forecourt of the GES Headquarters to outline his vision for the sector. In his address, the Minister thanked Management and Staff of GES for the successful implementation of the Free Senior High School (FSHS) policy in the last four years. He extolled the excellent performance of the maiden candidates of the FSHS in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), and attributed the glory to the hardworking staff and students of the GES.
