  • LOCKED-UP FUNDS: "Call Rev'd Ogbarmey Tetteh To Order"- CGCFM Petitions Speaker of Parliament (Pics)

The Leadership of the Coalition of Aggrieved Customers Of Gold Coast Fund Management (CGCFM) have petitioned the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin to call to order the Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Rev'd Daniel Ogbarmey Tetteh over their locked-up funds. According to them, they want Parliament to summon the SEC Boss and question him about the unds approved by chamber which is expected to be given the customers. In an exclusive interview with Thinknewsonline.com, one of the Covernors of the CGCFM, Charles Nyame said "We have petitioned the speaker of Parliament to call to order the Director-General of Securities and Exchange Commission, Rev'd Daniel Ogbarmey Tetteh" Mr. Nyame added that customers of CGCFM have done a lot of activities with the hope of recovering their locked up funds, counting from series of demonstrations of which they have been beaten by the police several times. "We saw a bit of light in the election tide where the government out of our activities came out with a partial bailout package to chase us through the hardship of covi19" "That is a bailout package that is 50 thousand cut. It has issues, but we will say that it has helped a number of people, but come to think of it, there are a huge number of customers who also have the files beyond 50000 and if you consider the portfolio of money that falls under the 50000 amount, it is just about 25 percent of the entire portfolio. Therefore, it means that the greater part of the money is locked up. So we were praying to see what will happen and God be so good" He stressed that the government came out with an allocation in a 2021 budget, that is GHc5.5 billion be paid off the entire fund management customers. He said "So after a budgetary allocation, we are praying that the Parliament House will approve and by the grace of God, have approved it" "We all know that one elocutionist meets, it has a span of a year. If the year is gone, it is very difficult to get it back. Now we are in the month of August Mr. Nyame hinted that with barely four months to go, they have not seen any any move of payments of these monies adding that decided to take the right channel. He explained that they had series of engagements with a lot of authorities. "We've engaged some of the NPP leadership in parliament, some of the NDC leadership in parliament. We've engaged the speaker in parliament and we resolved that the best way to go is to petition the speaker of parliament and the direction we have to petition a system and so that the issue would be raised on the floor of parliament. We have done that today. We have submitted our petition to Hon. Adongo to raise our issue on the floor of parliament, to petition the speaker on our behalf" On why the CGCFM is petitioning the speaker, he said "Back in April, after the budgetary allocation was made and approved, Rev'd Ogbarmey Tetteh's SEC commission had a press conference and said that the money's already the government has made allocation of that money already, but it cannot be paid to us because they have to sit in liquidation orders from courts, which we think is a bit confusing and it's misleading to the public." Mr. Nyame noted that a bailout package is totally distinct from a liquidation package. "If the government's or wish to just resolve to the bailout package to pay our money, the government saw the liquidation to pay our money. The government shouldn't have sought for a constitution to approve of money in the House of Parliament to pay us, because that's supposed to be a judicial decision" he mentioned. Mr. Nyame also said "That's why the government has set aside a package in the budget so that they can pick up later when the liquidation process goes to. They can't just reverse the money back to the government. Just so if a horrible debtor cannot understand this simple distinction between the liquidation package and the bailout package and sought to confuse the public just to mislead the public to make an excuse for the inability to pay us, then we are very sorry" The angry leadership fumed saying enough is enough. The Aggrieved Customers stated the earlier payments of funds can help end the needless deaths of these pensioners. "Yes, that is the main reason why we submitted this petition to the people who want to work with timelines. I believe that the budget allocation. The package, which for one year we've been where we are expecting them, that by the close of this month, August payment will come out, if there are issues for us to talk about as we talk about it, livres by September, payments to commence so that we know our way forward because we need to revamp the businesses of these businessmen who have got money locked up so that we can revamp our economy" he pleaded. • Hearts of Oak Beats Ashgold On Penalties To Win MTN FA Cup

Accra Hearts of Oak completed the double after an 8-7 penalty shootout victory over Ashanti Gold won them the 2020/21 MTN Ghana FA Cup. During the spot kicks, Ashanti Gold goalkeeper Kofi Mensah skied his kick after his opposite number Richard Attah had scored his. In the game itself, AshGold's glovesman Mensah was called into action after two minutes and he was up to the task. He went down early to apply his fist to a rolled ball which had set Patrick Razak in motion. The Obuasi-based side later came into the picture with their first attacking move Mark Agyekum was teed up by Eric Esso but the winger slipped terribly inside the box, allowing Hearts to clear their lines. Hearts were awarded a free-kick at the edge of the box on 14 minutes after Caleb Amankwah was pushed down recklessly by Stephen Banahene. Still it was the Phobians in control and Benjamin Afutu delivered a blistering header on a corner kick which came off the crossbar but defender Kwadwo Amoako was close to the goal line to kick it out. After the break, Hearts continued to press for the opener and in one of those moves, Frederick Ansah Botchway was brought down at the edge of the box. Raddy Ovouka effected the free-kick but AshGold were up to the task to repel that. AshantiGold continued to play to their strength and Amos Addai went on a solo run before striking at goal but it was straight and direct for goalkeeper Richard Attah to collect. Hearts replied with a quick attack but Isaac Mensah was flagged offside inside the AshGold area. A deflection on an Ovouka shot from long range nearly slipped through the hands of Mensah but he recovered to collect it on the touchline. Afutu was picked out neatly by a Fatawu Mohammed cross from the right but the midfielder's header at the far post wide. Seth Osei blasted wide from close range after a goal bound shot was redirected and Isaac Agyemang decided set up the diminutive midfielder. There was no winner in regulation time after Daniel Barnieh swept his shot at goal wide in the last kick of the match. In extra-time, Samuel Boadu and his men kept pressing but AshGold were resolute to thwart all their efforts. Before the end of the first 15 minutes, AshantiGold went on a break with Yaw Annor but his final pass to Osei was flagged offside as the latter was deep in the trap. Maybe Hearts should have been awarded a penalty when Emmanuel Nettey was fouled inside the box but referee Daniel Laryea thought it was a fair challenge. Nettey produced an audacious attempt with a long range effort but it was too high to cause havoc. Source: ghanasoccernet.com

  • OPINION: Ask The Palm Kernel, The Strengthen Of The Monkey's Buttocks" - "Godwin Ako Gunn

I feel sad for individuals, or cabals, who think they can fight a formidable party like the NDC and win. But I get more worried for those who pretend to be within yet are the system's enemy. The NDC is too strong for such individuals. They first create the impression the NDC today is intolerant, the youth are disrespectful. Sorry to disappoint you, when the time came for Jesus to release Judas, he did it with ease. He said go, for your time is due. There are too many people who believe they are too big for the party. Some belong to the 'when we were we, where were you class'. Others belong to the class of sufferers who think it must be them but not others. If they decide to walk away, let them walk. If you beg a person to stay a little longer, your opponents *may* be at the corner singing hallelujah chorus. Were you not worried, listening to the serialisation of the kwesi Botchwey report on a radio station in Accra? If what we heard was accurate, then know that it was an NDC person who sent it to them. The NPP or media doesn't sit in meetings with us. Count the number of times the national chairman has been in court in a case no one has owned up to its fabrication . I have listened to some former appointees with pain and disappointment, attacking and lashing out our 2016, 2020 flag bearer, former and current party leaders with ease!!! My position has always remained the same. If you ever feel your leader, your boss or your superior was not good enough, or incompetent, and you didn't resign, then please shut up!!! You were either a coward or an opportunist!!! Those who have enjoyed the glory and honor of power all their lives, are destroying with their feet, and the hungry ones who have never tasted power are the defenders and building with their hands. Seeing frivolous charges against hard working comrades of the party, who have helped achieve heights that the NPP will never achieve being hauled to the courts, with the recent one being Hon. Collins Dauda, I wonder how a comrade will wish evil for him!!! Infact, if the palm wine tapper doesn't quit tapping, he will one day see the bones of a worm. NDC was built with many hands, many of which never benefited a thing from their sweat. Some died poor, some are living with pain and regrets. Kids of such disappointed people are reluctant to go the extra mile for the party, because they can see pain and rejection looking into the eyes of their parents. If you have ever been at a privileged position, party or government. If you have ever benefited from the sweat of the masses, or you have ever been appointed to serve, COMRADE, kindly hold it in high esteem, many were called, but you were chosen. It doesn't make us better than the others. Most importantly, *NEVER* push a comrade to the wolves to be devoured. I wonder how we rush to the media with lies and half truth about ourselves, and still call ourselves comrades. No single person can ever destroy the NDC, in the same way, no individual can build this party single handedly. The role of the midfielders or strikers are as important as the defenders. I stand with Hon. Collins Dauda and all those facing disgraceful charges in various courts. As a party, we live together, or die together. For the internal saboteurs, faceless and open detractors, first find out how the monkey cracks nuts with its ass. Comrades, lets stay together in these difficult and trying times. We too, our time will come. When your time comes before me, I will be right there to give you a standing ovation. We can't all be on the same stage at the same time. Remember, there are better days ahead . *Kun fa Yakun* Credit: Godwin Ako-Gunn, Deputy Communications Officer, National Democratic Congress (NDC) NB: Thinknewsonline.com cannot be held liable for the opinion shared. • Liverpool Great Says Manchester United Don't Need Jadon Sancho And Raphael Varane

Former Liverpool and England winger, John Barnes believes that the additions of Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho will not solve Manchester United's consistency problems. United have struggled to secure consistent results at times, winning just two of their first six league games last season and winning just two out of eight league games after going top of the table in January — with a 9-0 win over Southampton mixed in with a 2-1 defeat at home to Sheffield United. READ ALSO: https://www.thinknewsonline.com/post/western-region-coda-projects-in-ahanta-west-progressing-steadily-pics In a bid to transform their fortunes and turn themselves back into genuine Premier League title contenders this term, the Reds have already wrapped up the £73m addition of England international Sancho, as well as being on the cusp of landing Varane from Real Madrid. Despite making two massive statements of intent with the additions of those two, Barnes is not convinced they will completely transform United's troubles, suggesting that when the team fails to deliver it will be manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who faces the blame. Barnes told BonusCodeBets.co.uk: "The harmony, consistency, and balance is where Manchester United has faltered. READ ALSO: https://www.thinknewsonline.com/post/bui-power-ceo-is-wrong-the-energy-minister-has-not-been-misled-by-gridco "They've played well against the big teams but they’ve been inconsistent and I think that will still be an issue for the next year because the pressure is not on the team, it’s always on the manager. "Once you have a situation whereby the pressure's on the manager, now and again the team won't perform and people will then blame the manager. Unfortunately for Ole, that will still be the case. "Player for player, they've got a great team. I'm not talking about harmony within the camp, although depending on what happens with [Paul] Pogba and a few others may be the harmony won’t be there. It’s more to do with the pressure that the team is under to perform. READ ALSO: https://www.thinknewsonline.com/post/bui-power-ceo-is-wrong-the-energy-minister-has-not-been-misled-by-gridco "Once you start putting the manager under pressure - Arsene Wenger went through it, lots of Liverpool managers went through it - you’ll see the inconsistency. People need to stop asking questions about Ole and whether he’s the right man for the job. "Unfortunately that is going to be the situation and will continue to be the situation." Sancho's arrival at Old Trafford has brought an end to United's long-term search for a new right-winger, but Barnes does not believe United picked the wrong target. READ ALSO: https://www.thinknewsonline.com/post/amplified-will-focus-on-amplifying-mentoring-youth-dev-t-activities-in-various-quarters-gov-t Barnes insisted that United should have gone after Tottenham Hotspur and England striker Harry Kane instead. "Sancho’s a great player and it’s good to have a young English player for the future. But I don’t think it’s a position they needed to strengthen," he said. "Is he going to play instead of [Marcus] Rashford or [Mason] Greenwood? Harry Kane to United would probably have made more sense than anything else but he's not going there.
