The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II is calling on the people of the Ga State to come together as one in order to leave behind good legacies for generations yet unborn. According to the Ga Mantse, without unity, love and respect, there can never be a better Ga State. Speaking at the launch of the 2022 Ga Mantse Homowo Cup at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), he said "I want to remind us that if we don't come together to build the Ga State, we will not be able to leave a good legacy for the generations unborn" The Ga Mantse also said "Hatred is not the way to go way. As GAs, we must remember that we are one people. We must be each other's keeper" "Just as our fore fathers have set the pace, it is now upon us to follow the trend. We must not belittle ourselves. The Ga Mantse Cup will unite and help us take our stage as GAs, the true owners of the land" - King Tackie Tsuru II added. He further stressed that he is optimistic that Continental Club Masters, Accra Hearts of Oak will sink city rivals, Accra Great Olympics in August. "I am happy, we have arisen the spirit of the Ga State. We are live around the world therefore, I will blend my Ga with English Language. The Gospel Musician proved that he is not only good with the microphone but also talented with his feet. In a video sighted by Thinknewsonline.com, the Gospel Musician was spotted not only ball juggling but also dribbling the Managing Director of Think Media Expert, Raymond Koomson. The Gospel Musician further revealed that although he chose the path of Gospel Music, he does not shy away from playing football with friends. The 2022 maiden edition of Civil Service Week celebration has been launched at the Accra Sports Stadium. The week celebration saw some Ministries battling it out in an Inter-Ministerial Football Gala. The opening ceremony saw staff from the various Ministries play, network and have fun. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Head of the Civil Service, Nana Kwasi Agyekum-Dwamena said "It is the Office of the Head of Civil Service's ambition that Ministries and Department continue to collaborate in creating a more physically active nation, where people of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy the many benefits that sport and physical activity bring at every stage in their lives" "And with this in mind, Civil Service staff are being encouraged to lead the way with the Inter-Ministerial Football Competition" He described the tournament as significant adding that it does not only promote economic development and healthy lifestyle but a catalyst for social cohesion. "This tournament is an opportune time for all participating terms to learn from each other, share ideas and build lasting relations" He urged the participants to take advantage of the opportunity and use to develop their skills, both on and off the field. He also reminded the participants to also observe the Covid-19 protocols. On his part, the Director of HR, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Eric Mensah Bonsu appealed to the participants to allow fair play to lead as they engage in the game. Reading the speech on behalf of the Deputy Minister of Evans Opoku Bobie, Mr. Mensah Bonsu underscored the need participants frequently engage in exercises in order to keep fit. There were series of matches which saw the Ministry of Transport eliminating the Ministry of Energy during the opening match. The Transport Ministry beat Ministry of Energy 8-7 on penalties after they drew 1-1. The second game saw the Ministry of Youth and Sports thrashing Parliamentary select side 3 nil. The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) says it has lifted the suspension of catering activities it placed on the East Legon and Abelemkpe branches of Marwako Fast Food. According to the FDA, it did so after run both the Management and staff of the Fast Food Joint through a comprehensive training on food safety Management Systems. In a release signed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Delese Mimi Darko, she said "The FDA, working with the Management of Marwako has comprehensively trained all levels of Management and staff of Marwako on Food Safety Management Systems; ensures the implementation of their corrective actions, and the institution of preventive actions. The release added that the La branch still remains closed whilst the Spintex Road branch is going through the process to be formally issued with the requisite Food Hygiene Permit to start operations. There was drama at a filling station located in the Falomo area of Lagos State when a woman suddenly went berserk. In a viral video shared on social media, a naked woman was seen with the nozzle of a petrol pump, spraying fuel around the area and endangering the lives of motorists who had queued for fuel. She was quickly overpowered by bystanders and carried away from the filling station area. Accra Hearts of Oak Attacker, Daniel Afiryie Barnie is set to leave the club following interest from a European club in the ongoing summer transfer window. The 21-year-old has received an offer  from German club, Bayern Leverkusen after an explosive debut season at the Capital based club. The Public Affairs Director of Parliament, Ms Kate Addo has emphasized the need to include social skills, negotiation, policy and effective communication in today's educational structure, as requisite skills at the secondary level to adequately prepare students to meet tomorrow’s workforce. Speaking at the launch of the 80th anniversary of Ebenezer Senior High School, Kate Addo underscored the challenges confronting today's students and urged them to cooperate with their teachers and to learn outside school hours. She also underscored the importance of soft skills as a prerequisite for the world of work. “Today’s students need education in social skills, negotiation, policy, effective communication and other soft skills if they are to be effective, relevant competitors in tomorrow’s workforce”. she stated. As a past student of the school, she raised concerns about the poor access to ICT knowledge and further stressed the need to give precedence to ICT education as a means to enhance productivity and be abreast with the rest of the world. She called for deliberation and the construction of an ultra-modern ICT laboratory to improve computer literacy at every stage of learning towards preparing students for the future. “ICT is a key ingredient for anyone pursuing any type of education. Now, in most learning institutions, work is done online. An ultra-Modern ICT lab for our school is imperative. Computer literacy and application must be a major requirement at every stage of learning since most of the information needed for knowledge acquisition in any subject can be found online. And it is a skill needed by our students for future work”. Adding that, past students over the years have not done much in improving the image and physical structure of the school. She persuaded a communal effort ahead to uplift the image of the school. The Ebenezer Senior High School was established in 1941 by RobertTeiko Aryee with a current enrollment number of 2578. The school has seen the likes of Lawyer Ayikoi Otuo, Professor Jeffery Squire at Waterloo University in Canada, Prof Mills, and Ms Kate Addo among other distinguished personalities as past students. Former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe lies on the ground after apparent shooting during an election campaign for the July 10, 2022 Upper House election, in Nara, western Japan July 8, 2022. Japan's former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was shot as he gave a campaign speech on Friday in western Japan and airlifted to a hospital. Local fire department official Makoto Morimoto said Abe was in cardiopulmonary arrest, or CPA, meaning he was not breathing and his heart had stopped, during the airlift. Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno told reporters that police had arrested a male suspect at the scene of the attack. "A barbaric act like this is absolutely unforgivable, no matter what the reasons are, and we condemn it strongly," Matsuno said. Current Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who belongs to the same political party as Abe, returned to Tokyo by helicopter from his own campaign destination of Yamagata, in northern Japan. He told reporters that Abe was "in a grave condition." "As far as I've heard, everything that can be done is being done to revive him. I am praying from the depths of my heart that his life will be saved," Kishida said. "I am not aware of the motives and background behind this attack, but this attack is an act of brutality that happened during the elections — the very foundation of our democracy — and is absolutely unforgivable." Japan's public broadcaster NHK aired video of Abe collapsed on the street with several security guards running toward him. He was reportedly shot a few minutes after he started talking outside a train station in western Nara. Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda, better known as MzVee, one of Ghana's most successful female Afropop, dancehall, and R&B singers, has lamented the country's high fuel prices. The singer said she used to fill her vehicle's fuel tank with GHC300, but that it has now risen to GHC700, making it difficult for her to fill her tank regularly. She emphasized that she opposes the collection of the electronic transaction levy (E-levy) because she considers it to be double taxation. “I was filling my tank for about GH300 but now I fill it for close to GH700 so yeah it’s hard in Ghana. I don’t have a good take on E-Levy because I feel like it’s a double taxation situation,” she bemoaned. She added: “Hardship has definitely increased in Ghana. I think Ghana is part of the top 5 countries since the Ukraine and Russia war that is like going through it.” In an interview with the Accra-based 'The Pulse' on the issue of the National Cathedral, which this portal monitors, the multiple-award-winning Ghanaian musician added that there are many churches in the country Christians belong to. She stressed that government should prioritize resolving the country's current economic woes over a National Cathedral. “I think there are basic things we should look at before we think about building a national cathedral in this country.
