The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that the re-exhibition of the Provisional Voters Register (PVR) will take place from Tuesday, October 15, to Saturday, October 19, 2024.
This decision follows the EC’s commitment during a Special Interparty Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting held on October 1, where the Commission assured the public that a revised version of the PVR would be made available online for registered voters to verify their details.
This exercise is designed to ensure that voters can report any discrepancies to the Commission for prompt correction.
In a statement released on Monday, October 14, the EC explained that voters can verify their details for free via the short code 71151#, starting on October 15.
Alternatively, voters can visit the Commission’s website at https://ec.gov.gh, click on the pop-up link located at the bottom-right corner of the page, and enter their 10-digit voter ID number to view their registration details.
The EC emphasized the importance of reporting any errors to the District Office where voters are registered to ensure timely correction.
However, the Commission noted that while voters can continue to check their details online after the re-exhibition period ends on October 19, they will no longer be able to request corrections.
The statement also highlighted that political parties must use the template provided by the EC to report any discrepancies they identify during the re-exhibition process.
This initiative is part of the EC's efforts to ensure an accurate and transparent voters' register ahead of the 2024 elections.
