  • “Wendy, Fantana Not Bigger Than Rufftown Records” – Bullet Vents Anger

Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) of RuffTown Records, Ricky Nana Agyeman known in showbiz as Bullet has vent his anger on his two female signees, Wendy Shay and Fantana for coming at each other on social media for the past few days. According to Bullet, he is disappointed the two female singers adding management will decide on what action to take. Speaking in an interview with an online portal, Bullet said “Fantana and Wendy Shay are not bigger than Rufftown Records” He also debunked rumours that he has taken an undisclosed amount of money from the mother of Fantana. “Fantana is really outspoken. I’ve taken no money from her mother. I only wanted to be of help to her career. I personally took her to the studio, she’s got real passion for music and that got me glued to her and nothing much” he explained. Ricky Nana Agyeman further explained that although mother of Fantana wanted to partner him in his Rufftown record business, he declined since the record label has enough to fund for itself. He said “Her mother wanted to partner with me and there’s nothing like she giving me some sort of huge money because it’s a record label . My record label has enough money to fund an artist. I sponsored her the first time I saw her, I don’t care who you are provided you’ve got passion because I love music” Answering questions on Rufftown Records been short of lyrics, the CEO however clarified that a record label which has produced stars like Ebony Reigns, Wendy Shay and herself (Fantana) cannot lack ideas. He cautioned Fantana to be mindful of her utterances adding the Artist should desist from speaking evil about the brand. “You don’t speak evil and disrespect my hard earned Label. My label is one hot label that produces great music so you don’t go about disrespecting my label” he fumed. He revealed that most of the lyrics used by Fantana are words he came up with adding her disrespect for the brand is unacceptable. “I always go behind closed doors to settle their differences. I’m not bias. It’s not everyone you can control. Rufftown records is bigger than Wendy Shay and Fantana.! Rufftown Records have done nothing to Fantana, if indeed I’ve hurt you as a manager, you take it on the right track. Their fights ain’t for hypes, they are real” he justified. Bullet further hinted he feels a member of his record label is the one behind the mess. He said “Someone in the team is spoiling the record label. Indeed if there is a problem, I have asked them to live separately. My team cooked this up and they had a loose talk about each other. This issue went to an extent of inviting our head pastor to solve the issue” He fumed that he never forced Fantana rather it’s showbiz and issues are always cooked up to get the trends . “We’ve seen talents and yet I tired to manage my artists. You can’t attack a record label because you’ve got an issue with a colleague in the same label. You can sue the label if you think the label has done something for you” he stated. Bullet revealed that since Fantana has chosen to disrespect the brand, he has asked his lawyers to meet with her. “My lawyers will be meeting her and her family so we terminate her contract. Fantana hasn’t brought any money on my desk. I’ve never sided with Wendy Shay. I’m terminating our contracts because she denting the record label and not because of her issue with Wendy” he noted. Ricky Nana Agyeman hinted that Fantana is no longer on his label revealing its been 8 months since he saw the Artiste. He explained “In every record label, there should be some sort of respect. I have over 1000 recorded songs and I won’t ever be limited when it comes to lyrics. Respect the hands that feed you. “Tuff Skin Girl” is a publicity gone wrong” The C.E.O of Rufftown Records Bullet added he created the name, Fantana adding if singer, Wendy misbehaves her contract will be terminated. • ‘COVID-19 has taught us to look out for the collective good’ – M.anifest

Every sector of the Ghanaian economy was adversely affected by the novel Coronavirus which hit Ghana in March 2020. The creative industry was not spared the ravaging effects of the virus as the government banned public gatherings in a bid to curb the spread of the virus. Musical concerts and social events were suspended following the ban. Some musicians in Ghana and around the world have complained about the adverse effect the pandemic has had on their streams of income. Ghanaian hip-hop rapper and songwriter Kwame Ametepe Tsikata, known in showbiz as M.anifest has opened up on some observations he has made within the COVID-19. Speaking on The Point of View on Citi TV, the ‘God MC’ hitmaker indicated that he would rather prefer to view the pandemic as a trigger that is directing the human race to consider the “basics of humanity.” “It has been important to recalibrate and refocus on what is important. In these times, you have to quickly learn that whatever it is that your selfish ambitions are; what you want for yourself, the goals that you started the year with, you will have to recalibrate and get back to the basics of humanity– survival, looking out for each other. It has been good personally as well because sometimes when you are doing your work, you don’t get the time to sit down and refocus on your purpose and you take things for granted and COVID is a by force retrospective agent. It has been a retrospective agent and it forces you to focus on what matters.” M.anaifest also indicated that the pandemic has taught him to look out for the collective interest of everyone since it is in the collective success that an individual derives his personal success. “It has taught us as public figures to not just use our influence for our businesses but actually for the greater good. So for me, it has been a quick level of recalibration…It is the collective interest, the greater good that matters,” he said. M.anifest is one of the celebrities who used their social media handles to sensitise the public on the coronavirus pandemic. He specifically, urged people not to be engulfed with fear, and also always adhere to the precautionary measures. Ghana’s COVID-19 case count as of May 20, 2020, is 6,269, according to an update by the Ghana Health Service. 1,898 people have recovered from the virus while 31 persons have died. • Never Post Your Relationship On Social Media

First and foremost, Social media has really changed the modest way we used to handle relationships and not always for the better. Bragging about your relationship on social media, we get the impulse. There’s nothing better than being in love and you really have chills about your partner, you certainly want to share those feelings with friends and the world . There are things you share with your partner that the world must not have a clue about . Do not post what happens between the sheet. Also keeping personal details about your partner to oneself is a key to a great , long lasting relationship ever. Why? You might think it’s 'cute'! Save that mushy stuff for each other . You love your romantic interest but the world doesn’t necessarily want to know your secret pet names “Cupcake” “Bunny” Nevertheless, it’s never a good advice to keep inappropriate pictures or videos of your partner on the internet. People are weird about what they consider 'unflattering' when it comes to images of themselves. Moreover, there’s one thing that really makes one loose a great respect before his or her peers and it’s really a disgusting attitude that needs not to be encouraged i.e “Stop trying to win points in your lovers spat” When you make your fight public, you’re undermining your ability to make up forcibly. This is because relatives and friends will unquestionably take your side. Such stuffs should be privatized, because once you work your differences out, your partner or yourself will be a laughingstock but if you keep it on a matured scale, you will be cock-a-hoop you didn’t publicize with your beef . In addition, naturally , no one wants to see your tongue wrestling selfies. Believe me on this, trust nobody, I mean “Nobody”. There are (2) two reasons of keeping your smooches off the media because your practically have nothing to prove. In our era, it’s becoming a tradition of partners flaunting pictures of pricey presents . Showing those expensive gifts given to you by your lover off on the media is a good bad mistake ever. Class bitterness is a real and stiff force on our culture. Although if you do not make your peers Hayes you, you might simply be making them feel horrible that they can’t present such fancy gifts and presents . Last but not the least , do not just post looking for validation as to if you are going to be great couples or if you look better together. The question is , are you happy in your relationship? If so, why then do you need approval of your friends before it’s fully confirmed that your man or man is rightfully yours? When one constantly post positive pictures or videos or update their status with a positive vibe, it can affects your relationship in a negative way because you only post them for people to approve. Finally, the inside scoop on the breakdown of one’s relationship doesn’t need to go public. This is because breaking up can make one loose focus, sense of reasoning and indeed it’s one of the darkest moment in life. If one can keep at least a thin strand of ego tethered to reality best to combat the impulse to vent in social media. Source: Mandy Woods

All we did was to comply with the directives of the President.” He added although President Akufo-Addo’s restriction deprived some organisations to work, his outfit could not comply since it had to ensure the exercise was executed. “The President also said that, businesses and other workplaces may continue to operate subject to the observance of social distancing and personal hygiene protocols and that’s exactly what the NIA did.” he explained Source: Magdalene Maame Abena Serwaa Asante

  • Is It Necessary To Disclose Your Relationship Status On Social Media?

Most at times, it becomes so dicey as to say ‘Yes Or NO’ when one is asked to tell his or her opinion. Indeed, in some way it is neither good or bad to disclose your relationship status on the social media. If I’m asked as an individual to share my thoughts and opinion on this issue I will go for No! Let’s make a few things clear; 1. I don’t have an imaginary partner. 2. No, I am not bidding an abusive or unhappy relationship. 3. Yes, I am really in a relationship. 4. I am not ashamed of my relationship nor of the person with whom I share my life with. I may be wrong for someone but in my deepest experience as a person, I’ve come to know most relationship that last need privacy. My partner is not into social media. One would say he or she is an archaic or old fashioned! Yes, that’s reality and he or she is in planet reality! I do not want to feed others curiosity. I’ve seen it and you certainly have too; people’s curiosity can sometimes, perhaps often come from a bad feeling. Certain people are just patiently waiting for your doom, downfall or breakup. When everything seems positive in your relationship, they really don’t bother commenting on any pics or videos of you and your partner and they suffer in silence, but immediately they see or sense a problem, they are the first to comment or sympathize and show their disguised goodwill. Be careful! I have nothing to prove that I am happy and in a healthy relationship, nor do I have to prove to the single people that life in a relationship is better and that makes them complete. I don’t have to convince myself that my partner is my partner. That he or she’s supports me in my projects. I refuse to enter into a virtual competition of who makes the best Couple on the Media via IG, FB, Snap etc. I refuse to be the external validation. “Ain’t we cute couples”? “Are we compatible”? I want to avoid having to justify myself by sharing a piece of myself on social media. This is because we invite others to be part of our lives. I don’t want my relationship to be owned by anyone Except Us. In a nutshell, posting your relationship on the media create way for competition, envy, jealousy among friends and people from afar. Not all those who congratulate us really wish us well.! It’s really natural for someone to hate you. Because you posed to be perfect out there hence u ought to be hated for. Most people also pretend to have a perfect life out there hence if u follow their steps it’s definitely going to ruin a well-designed relationship into shambles. Keep your relationship to yourself. Avoid toxic friends around you and stop showing off partners to friends, not everyone is evil but most are Evil! Source: Mandy Woods

  • “GHc10 Billion Cedis Will Help Bridge Budget Deficit” - Prof. Quartey

Economist, Prof. Peter Quartey says he supports the decision by country’s central bank to release GHc10 Billion to government as part of measures at bridging the budget deficit caused by the novel Corona virus pandemic. According to him, the move when executed will help government cushion the economy from the contrary effect of the virus. It however emerged that Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Addison was reported to have disclosed that the central bank was making 5.5 billion cedis of the total financial support. He added that he believes government will use the money released to purchase covid-19 relief bonds to ease liquidity needed for various forms of expenditure. "So far in the past couple of years, the central bank has provided zero financing to the government, but we are not in normal times, and I believe it is just proper for the central bank to steps in if it has surplus funds to help the government,” he noted. Reacting to comments from the Governor of Bank of Ghana, Prof. Quartey explained it was necessary as most economies, through their finance ministers are re-prioritizing their expenditure to determine the shortfalls in revenue; both projected and actual. He said “The support from the Bank of Ghana as set aside a memoranda of Understanding(MoU) it signed with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) not to fund government's budget deficit. Advocates of this have argued that the move presented fertile grounds for successive governments to overrun their budgets with impunity” Professor Quartey challenged the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta to divert majority of the money to be released to the Health and Agricultural Sectors of the economy. "Large scale commercial agriculture I believe could be one area that the government can pick about ten farmers to support and then within the health and pharmaceutical sectors. These for me are two critical areas that the Finance Ministry can look into.” He explained He appealed to Members of Parliament (MP) to evaluate parts of the Public Financial Management Act to cater for the misrepresentation to certain limits such as the budget deficit which is sits at 5% of GDP for any given year. “Parliament would have to look at the limit and set new ones which will be acceptable. Yes, we all agree we are not in normal times, but then it doesn’t mean we just need to spend. That has to be done within acceptable limits,” Prof. Quartey added. Thinknewsonline.com is learning the GHc4.5 Billion which is to be released by the Bank of Ghana will be released in the course of time as the controller monitors progress in the country’s economy.
