  • "I've Total Confidence In The New Educational Curriculum" - Peter Boateng (VIDEO)

The Regional Secretary of Greater Accra, GNAT, Peter Boateng says he is confident the new educational curriculum will help build better students in the country. According to him, although he has total confidence in the new curriculum, he is also calling for the necessary logistics which will help in teaching and learning to be provided. Speaking exclusively to Thinknewsonline.com, Mr. Boateng said "I've total confidence in the new curriculum provided the needed logistics are released to the teachers" READ ALSO: https://www.thinknewsonline.com/post/empire-star-bryshere-gray-sentenced-to-jail-in-domestic-violence-case Touching on the newly introduced standardized test for basic 4 students, Mr. Peter Boateng said "I support it at every level. You and I know the old format where the pupils will have to progress to JHS 3 before he or she is made to write an exam but in other places, the case is different. The child is given the opportunity for their pulses to be tested before they face the real deal" He stressed that if Singapore has been able to succeed with such a standard of education, he believes, introducing it to the Ghanaian child will help broaden his or her knowledge. "During my days in Form 1, some students tried their luck on the Common Entrance exams and they made it so it becomes a waste of resources for the person to go through the academic period. 6 Form was for 2 years, some complete their 'O' level, stay at home for a year before they write the private exam and further their education" READ ALSO: https://www.thinknewsonline.com/post/we-suspect-arson-targeted-at-destruction-and-concealment-of-material-evidence-at-tano-south-ndc He added that the new educational policy will give room for intellectual talents to be tapped among the pool of children. The Regional Secretary further explained that the new educational policy will not put pressure on the school children. "No! When we talk about examination, it's not all about written exams, we call project work. In other parts of the world, class 1 children are made to do some projections on what they want to become. When training the children, we consider three things; cognitive domain development, affective domain development, and psychomotor domain development" he noted. He fumed that anyone found to be flouting the directive will have him or herself to blame. "We cannot afford to allow the recklessness of a few to endanger the lives of the majority of persons in the country" He told Ghanaians that the COVID-19 Taskforce, which he chairs, has recommended that a second look be taken at the protocols that have been put in place for the holding of funerals across the country. "I have, in previous updates, emphasised the need for the strict observance of safety protocols at funerals, and the following measures are a set of enhanced protocols which must be adhered to by all at funerals" "All events associated with funerals must be held in open air spaces. There must be observance of the one (1) metre social distancing rule by sympathisers. The wearing of masks is mandatory, and persons must respect the enhanced hygiene protocols" President Akufo-Addo added that funerals should not go beyond the two (2) hour time duration adding that post-funeral receptions have been banned. • "Atta Mills’ Legacy In Ghana’s Economic History Is Unmatched" – Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has described the legacy of the late President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, as unmatched in Ghana’s economic history. The ex-president opined that although the presidency of the late Prof. Mills was a short one, the level of socio-economic development chalked under his tenure cannot be underestimated. Atta Mills died at the 37 Military hospital three days after his birthday. He would have been 77 years old on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. The leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Saturday, July 24, 2021, held a memorial ceremony at the Asomdwe Park in Accra to commemorate the 9th anniversary of his death. Eulogizing his late predecessor at the memorial ceremony, former President John Dramani Mahama touted some accomplishments of the late former President while in office. “Prof. [Mills] was a team leader. It was under his guidance that the NDC administration chalked most of its notable achievements, including the longest period of single-digit inflation for more than 2 years. The highest economic growth record was not only in Ghana but the world over at 14% for the year 2010. Accelerated infrastructural development [was also ensured] placing Ghana at the World Bank’s ease of doing business survey for West Africa, and making Ghana the number one preferred destination in West Africa for investors.” “Yet being the humble achiever that he was, and in line with the traditions of the NDC, Prof. [Mills] derived no satisfaction to beat his chest and boast about his economic statistics when he knew that his work was there to speak for him,” he added. • "Anti LGBT+ Bill: Figure Yourself Out, Until Then Say Hi To Medikal For Me" – Sam George Jabs Sister

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo Prampram, Sam Goerge discharged his honourable robe as he dragged sister Derby and shamed her with her failed sexual relationship with Medikal. These digs were retaliation for attacking him over the anti-gay bill. Yesterday, the MP for Ningo-Prampram celebrated his success on the Anti-LGBT+ Bill on Twitter. Sam George wrote, “I have been overwhelmed by the massive support even here on a very ‘liberal’ platform like Twitter for our Bill on the LGBTQI+ menace. Homosexuality is NOT a human right. It is a sexual preference. Preferences are not absolute or unregulated. We SHALL pass this Bill through.” This did not sit well with numerous LGBT + sympathizers, including Sister Derby. As an advocate for the minority group, Sister Derby replied to his tweets, describing him as a pervert with a backward mindset. ““You are only doing this to score political points, forgetting the harm you are causing queer folk. Tell us what else you will personally gain from passing this bill if not political points??? Shame on you!” Hon. Sam Goerge has also replied to this confrontation by labelling her a failure using her music career and past sexual relationships as a reference point. He wrote, “Hopefully when you figure out what genre of music you can succeed at, we can have a forward-looking conversation. Until then, say hi to @AmgMedikal for me. Cheers.” Credit: 3news.com

  • "Our Focus Is To Win Double With Hearts of Oak" — Fatawu Mohammed

Hearts of Oak skipper, Fatawu Mohammed, says the club is focused on finishing the season as double champions after annexing the Ghana Premier League title. Mohammed told the Graphic Sports in an exclusive that the season was far from over for the team, especially where they are still working tirelessly to add the MTN FA Cup trophy to the league title. The Phobians are scheduled to play Elmina Sharks in the quarter-finals of the MTN FA Cup at Elmina this weekend, following an impressive season which has seen them playing 11 matches without defeat. According to him, the playing body was only thinking of ending the season with another trophy before focusing on their continental campaign next season. He said the players were committed to making history with Hearts and would fight hard to win the FA Cup at the end of the campaign. “We haven’t started thinking of playing in Africa yet because the season is not yet over,” Mohammed stated. “The focus now is to win the FA Cup and end the season as double champions and we are working towards that. “Until that is done, we are not immediately thinking of next season’s Champions League participation which could be detrimental to our double target,” he added. Hearts were coronated as winners of their 21st league title at Sogakope last Saturday and are expected to compete in next season’s CAF Champions League. However, leading the team to break an over a decade’s jinx excited Mohammed, who thanked the management and supporters of the club for their immense contribution to that history and promised towork harder next season. “It is an honour to lead a team like Hearts of Oak to win the league title and that really excites me. “But I don’t have to take the credit alone because everyone in the club played a major role in seeing us end this jinx,” Mohammed noted.
