Three Female Ghanaian Celebrities have descended heavily on host of TV3's morning show, Berla Mundi calling her an emotionless presenter.
The three female celebrities, Stephanie Benson, Efia Odo And Sister Derby descended heavily on the Radio/TV presenter, Berla Mundi after she had an interview with a victim of rape.
According to the trio, Berla's interview on the subject was like a comedy show.
First to do the damage was Stephanie Benson, she wrote on Twitter "A girl talking about a violent rape like a comedy show. An Emotionless Presenter responding to rape victim like they are talking about a bad film"
"If that wasn't bad enough a fucking laughing audience. What the hell is wrong with society. God forgive us" Stephanie Benson said.
Social Media Influencer, Efia Odo on her part said "The host of the show couldn't take a few seconds to speak to the audience and tell them that this is no laughing matter"
She added that the behaviour of the presenter and audience depicts how Africans do not take cases of rape seriously.
Sister Deborah who added her voice to jab the on-air personality said "Someone who insisted on making a whole interview with me on live television about me being againstt another woman, instead of exposing the guilt of a man in question, when I was only there to promote my EP"
She added that if Berla Mundi had enough time she would have asked the rape victim another baseless question on what she wearing before the rape happened.
ThinkNewsOnline has gathered that Berla Mundi shared a video of her interview with a rape victim where she narrated her unfortunate ordeal on her official Instagram page.
The rape victim who gave her name as Mawusi was raped by a policeman at age 16.
Her parents agreed to settle the matter out of court by accepting an amount between ghc800 and ghc1000 from the rapist.
According to Mawusi, she never received medical attention even though she was visibly wounded from the act.
In the course of the interview, the audience seated at the studio where the program is being aired burst into serious laughter.
The reaction from the audience(crowd) at the studio did not go down well with some celebrities who chanced on the video Berla Mundi shared on her page on Instagram.
Issues of rape from time immemorial have been a very delicate topic that is of great concern to all most especially women since most of them fall as victims to such circumstances.
Lydia Forson said “Wait why was the audience laughing? the entire narration was so uncomfortable to watch, it didn’t even seem like it was rape that was being discussed. @berlamundi if indeed they were called to order, I would have hoped their laughter was edited out, it really just made a ridicule of the issue”
