"Temporary Closure Of Roads Ahead Of Extraordinary Summit of ECOWAS Heads of State"- Police Cautions


The Accra Regional Police Command has cautioned the general public that there will be a temporary closure of certain roads in Accra ahead of the Extraordinary Summit of ECOWAS ahead of State from Wednesday 15th to Thursday 16th September, 2021.


According to the Police, some roads will be intermittently closed to traffic and opened immediately after the summit.


In a statement by the Deputy Suprintendent of Police, Julian Obeng, it said "The affected roads are Jubilee Lounge to Liberation Road at Opeibea, Liberation Road from Opeibea traffic light through the Independence Avenue at National Theatre traffic light, Kempinski Hotel to National Theatre on the Independence Avenue through Ako Adjei"


The statement reminded motorists to take note of these traffic arrangements and comply accordingly.


She, however, noted that the command has made adequate provision for Motor Traffic Police Officers to be detailed at vantage points to offer the needed assistance to motorists.
