"I Feel Betrayed By The Wassa East Police Command" – Assembly Man Weeps

The Assembly Man for Wassa Akyempim Electoral Area in the Wassa East District of the Western Region, Joseph Akomiah has expressed bitterness in the Wassa East District Police Command for failing to arrest the suspects of a stabbing case against him.

He added that the unfortunate incident occurred when he, together with his Unit Committee Member, Samuel Akomiah went out to install street bulbs on the streets of Wassa Akyempim.

"My attention was drawn to a bloody fight that was ongoing at the time. I rushed to the scene only to see some twin brothers, Kwame Evans Snr and Kwame Evans Jnr aggressively fighting one, Kwame Aboagye who was at the point of death"

The Assembly Man recounted that, as he and his unit committee member tried to separate the fighters, six other men who are friends of the twin brothers also joined with knifes, sticks and stones, where one of the men suddenly pulled out a knife from his pocket and stabbed him at the back.

He also explained that he was quickly rushed to the Church Of Christ Hospital at Wassa Ateiku for medical treatment.

"A few days after the incidence, the District Commander has invited me and asked the Chief Inspector to give me a sealed envelope. Unknowingly, the content of the sealed envelope was a wild complaints made against me by the suspects and as at now, no arrest has been made by the police he lamented. I am highly disappointed in the chief inspector Robert Atsutse for sending me with a case filed against me by my enemies meanwhile, no arrest has been made since the incidence happened.”

Mr. Akomiah further appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) James Opong Boanuh to intervene in the matter for justice to prevail.

Meanwhile, the Wassa East district police commander Superintendent Asiwome Agbemenyale has refused to comment on the matter.
