Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah says the fight against illegal mining is a collective responsibility and must not be left to only government.
According to the Sanitation Minister, the fight illegal mining cannot be achieved without the support from Ghanaians therefore calling on all and sundry to join the force and help the government.
She made these comments at the official launch of the Waste Water Education Program which is being spearheaded by Zoomlion Foundation in collaboration with the Pureco Group of Companies.
The program sought to educate children about proper sanitation and hygiene in their classrooms through play base learning and teaching.
In an interview with Journalists, Madam Abena Dapaah said" The President has shown massive commitment the fight against the illegality thus the duty of Ghanaians to help fight the few selfish individuals as she says teaching sanitation from schools is best way to go"
Taking his turn, Executive Chairman for the Jospong Group of Companies, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong commended the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources and Pureco Group of Companies for the initiative.
Explaining the rationale behind the program, hinted that the aim of Zoomkids Foundation was to catch the them young, educate and inculcate the culture of Sanitation and Hygiene into them for future purposes.
On his part, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Pureco Group of Companies Balint Horvath said "It is an important program where they want to help the Ghanaian environment and also for people to see the damages poor sanitation is doing to the environment.
