Ghana's Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has hinted the country is keen to promote the teaching and learning of the French Language in schools across the country. According to him, various policies have been envisaged in this direction. The United Nations (UN) in Ghana has confirmed that it has no affiliation with the recently held' Blueprint Global Challenge Award' which was held in Accra. According to the UN in Ghana, it also does not have any links with the organisers. In an official statement sighted by ThinkNews Online it said "The attention of the UN in Ghana has been drawn to news reports of an award purported to be associated with the UN and the Kofi Annan Foundation" It added that all genuine UN notices follow strict rules and procedures and are announced/published on UN websites. Artists like Berla Mundi, Captain Smart, Sarkodie, DJ Black, D-Black and many other personalities are victims. The multi award winning personality, Nana Ama Mcbrown further revealed that she escaped Dr UN’s “by force” award by ignoring his mail. She added she would have been a victim of the fake award scheme by Dr UN if she had responded adding she would have made a full out of herself. Some scores of social media users are asking; were these celebrities desperate for an award? Couldn’t they have investigated about the source of the person honoring such award? AMG Rapper, MDK and his lovely wife Fella have taken to their Instagram handles to outdoor their daughter “Island Frimpong”. The couple in showing love to their daughter have also created an Instagram handle, @IslandFrimpong. The name given to the little girl has gotten the internet buzzing with user wondering and asking, why “Island”? Social media users say they were expecting a local Ewe name like "Enyonam” or “Awo Frimpongmaa”. The Chief Executive Officer of Coastal Development Authority (CODA), Lawyer Jerry Ahmed Shaib has cut sod for the construction of two (2) AstroTurf at Agona Swedru and Agona Nyarkrom in the Central Region. The project which is funded through the one Million Dollar one constituency program under the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP) under the Ministry of Special Development Initiatives (MSDI). The CEO together with the Member of Parliament (MP) of Agona West who doubles as the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Cynthia Mamle Morrison called on the Paramount Chief of Agona Swerdu, Nana Kobina Asiadu Botwe II to seek his blessings before the sod cutting ceremony. President Akufo-Addo has expressed disappointment in the Presidential Candidate of the largest opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama over his comments saying Akyems are 'Sakawa Boys'. According to President Akufo-Addo, he is amazed that the comments by the Presidential Candidate has not been condemned by Religious Bodies and other Organisations.
