  • IPEP: Ablekuma Central Gets Ultramodern Market From CODA

    Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma Central Constituency, Ebenezer Nii Narh Nartey has cut sod for the redevelopment of the Sabon Zongo Market as part of the constituency’s allocation of one million dollars. The project, which is being funded by Coastal Development Authority (CODA) under the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP), when completed will transform the dilapidated structure into an ultramodern trading facility. The new market, which is expected to be completed in three months, will significantly empower families by boosting the economic lives of residents, most of whom are petty traders.   • KUMASI: Alleged Killer Of 'MoMo' Vendor Arrested

    The alleged suspect linked to the killing of a 32-year-old mobile money operator at Ejisu/Onwe in the Ashanti Region has been remanded into prison custody by a district court in Kumasi. The deceased, Samson Owusu Adjei, was attacked on Thursday, August 27, by an armed gang who robbed him of his daily sales and shot him in the process. He was referred from the Onwe Government Hospital to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His plea was, however, not taken by the court which subsequently remanded him into prison custody. He will reappear before the court on September 22, 2020, according to court records.     Information reaching ThinkNews Online indicates three person have lost their lives in a gory accident which occurred at Amanase near Suhum on the Kumasi to Accra highway. According to eye-witnesses, the three who lost their lives were on board a VVIP Bus with registration number, GT 6417-10. ThinkNews Online has gathered that the bus was carrying about 43 passengers. It is however emerging that most of the passengers have sustained various degrees of injuries with some in critical condition hence rushed to Suhum Government Hospital for emergency healthcare.     The Presidential Candidate for the largest opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) has confirmed he will scrap away the law banning the importation of salvage vehicles in the country when given the nod come December 7. According to him, the scraping move forms part of the private sector tax initiatives for the people of Ghana.
