The Director of Operations, Accra Regional Police, Kwesi Ofori, has sent a strong warning to followers of the opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC) saying they will deal ruthlessly with anyone who misbehaves. According to him, his men are fully prepared and will not take it easy on any wrong doers. Addressing journalists in Accra, he said "Our men are on the grounds and are fully prepared. We will deal mercilessly with anyone who misbehaves" The call comes after some scores of NDC followers marched to the headquarters of the Electoral Commission to regard their displeasure of the December Presidential results. A 30-year-old staunch member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been stabbed to death at Old Suame, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. The deceased whose name was only given as Azudin, met his untimely death in the wee hours of Tuesday, December 15, 2020, following a grudge that ensued between him and his relatives. Six Presidential candidates in the 2020 election have called on flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama to either accept the final results declared by the Electoral Commission or seek legal redress. This comes after the leadership of the NDC accused the EC of pronouncing what they describe as a stolen verdict. But at a press conference on Wednesday, Hassan Ayariga of the All People’s Congress (APC), David Apasera of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Ivor Greenstreet of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Henry Herbert Lartey of the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), Kofi Akpaloo of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) and Independent Candidate, Kwame Asiedu Walker called for peace. They insisted that the court is the only establishment that can overturn the final results declared by the EC.
