Shatta Wale has appreciated Flavour for supporting what he has said about Nigerian artistes and their behaviour towards other African acts during his performance at the ‘Freedom Concert’ on December 25, 2021. During his Twitter rage, Shatta Wale stated that Nigerians should thank and respect Ghanaians because their musicians come to Ghana and other African countries for the numbers before becoming known around the world, but they don’t reciprocate the love. Speaking in an interview with Big Brother show host, Ebuka, Flavour supported the view that Nigerians don’t support other artistes in Africa and cited Diamond Platinumz as one of Africa’s biggest acts who has more following than most artistes in America but his songs are not played in Nigeria. “Numbers show us something. How can Diamond have a song with over 30 million views in a month and the song isn’t played as much as it’s supposed to be here in Nigeria? That shows you that something is wrong and then a song with 600,000 views is being played like Michael Jackson just resurrected,” he shared. According to the Nigerian artiste, it is no surprise some countries refuse to play Nigerian music in their clubs because the support they give Nigerian artistes isn’t reciprocated, citing Kenya as an example. The Founder and Leader of the Prophetic Hill Chapel, Nigel Gaisie has fired back saying nothing will stop him from giving prophesies at tomorrow's watchnight service. According to him, he will prophesy in all confidence. A Sekondi District Court has remanded into custody three senior high school (SHS) students who set ablaze a bolt driver. Bolt Case The students have been slapped with criminal charges for the incident which happened at Sekondi Baka-Ano in the Western Region. Prosecutor of the case, Inspector Jennifer Acheampong reading the facts of the case before court said suspect Adolf Eshun, aged 18 years on December 22, ordered Bolt for suspects Patrick Baidoo, 19 years and Joseph Lord Ni Adjei Oninku, 17 years because they were stranded. It later emerged that the two burnt the deceased, AB1 Okyere Boateng who is also a Naval Officer, after he resisted an attempt to take his vehicle away. The first accused person, Adolf Eshun is facing only one count of abetment of crime namely robbery. The two others, Patrick Baidoo and Joseph Lord Nii Adjei Oninku are being pressed with four charges. These include conspiracy to commit crime – attempted robbery, causing unlawful damage and murder, and attempt to commit crime -robbery. The Ghanaian cedi continues to show strength against major currencies, especially the US dollar, the latest report released by Bank of Ghana indicates. According to the latest Monetary Policy Report by the Bank of Ghana, the Cedi has shown a cumulative year-to-date depreciation of 1.7% for 2021. With this depreciation rate, the Central Bank, and indeed analysts project that the cedi is likely to end the year 2021 with the lowest rate of depreciation since 1992 and in the 4th Republic. The cedi has shown stability in the past few years, bouncing back from its highest annual depreciation rate of 31% in 2014. While the Cedi depreciated at 12.9% in 2019, it came down to 3.9% in 2020, and with three months to end 2021, the 1.7% is the lowest depreciation in nearly three decades. The Monetary Policy Report from the Bank of Ghana also indicated improved performances in some key sectors of the economy while other sectors are still yet to recover from the dampening effects of the Covid-19. The report showed a stronger pick up in annual GDP growth to 3.9% in the second quarter of 2021, from the 3.1% recorded in the first quarter, and a 5.7% contraction in the same period of 2020. The report also indicated a positive outlook in the banking sector, which remains stronger and well-capitalized, with stronger growth in total assets, investments and deposits. Error-prone Andrews Appau gifted Faisal the equalizer after 26 minutes when Baba Yahaya capitalized on the defender's mistake by blocking a pass to slot it beyond goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad. The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has sent a strong warning to men of God to be mindful of certain prophesies they will be making before, during and after their cross over services. According to him, although there is freedom of worship in the country, the rights and freedoms of individuals cannot be infringed upon. In a statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs, Supt. Alexander Obeng, he said "As the year 2021 draws to a close, the Ghana Police Service wishes to draw the attention of Ghanaians, especially religious groups, to tye fact that whereas we have the right to religion, freedom of worship and free speech, all of these rights are subject to the respect for the rights and freedoms of others accordingly to our laws" The statement also added that over the years, communication of prophesies of harm, danger and death by some religious leaders have created tension and panic in the Ghanaian society and put the lives of many in fear and danger. Supt. Obeng stressed that the Ghana Police Service wishes to caution that under the Ghanaian law, it is a crime for a person to publish or reproduce a statement, rumour or report which is likely to cause fear and Alexander to the public. Unfortunate news coming in is that a popular American Instagram model who had been in Ghana in the last few days has reportedly died. Circumstances surrounding the death of Tyger Booty, (real name, Dasani Williams), the popular exotic model renowned on x-rated platforms, remain unclear as no authority in Ghana has been able to provide any credible information on the case yet. However, GhanaWeb has been able to gather a few details as we know them now and here they are: Reported by some international news portals, it has been gathered that the model was allegedly in the country to be a ‘call girl’ after having been sponsored by a rich Ghanaian and flown into the country for a luxurious vacation during the Christmas holidays. According to multiple reports, Tyger was in Accra to “give pleasure to the big men at the parties she was billed to attend during the holiday season.” Attempts to reach the US Embassy in Ghana On December 5, this year, and while still in Ghana, Tyger tweeted at the official Twitter handle of the US Embassy in Ghana, trying to get their attention to a message she had sent into their inbox. It is unclear now if that tweet was replied to, and what the contents of the message the model sent to the Embassy was about. Former President, John Dramani Mahama, has said the death of the South African Former Christian Leader-cum-anticorruption crusader, Archbishop Desmond Tutu which took place during Christmas festivities has been divinely planned. In a tribute on Sunday, December 26, President Mahama said, the late Archbishop was a foremost leader of the Christian faith and a humanist whose calling in the service of humanity transcended religion. “God calling him to rest during this sacred period of Christmas could only have been divinely scripted, with him having lived a full life, dedicated to God and humanity.” The Former President stated. According to him, the late Desmond Tutu stood against apartheid and all forms of injustices in South Africa and the world. The Former President has therefore, urged all living to emulate such admirable qualities of the late icon of Africa.
