Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Vice Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has reiterated the party's commitment to fostering a thriving business environment by introducing a flat tax rate for importers if the NPP is given the mandate in the upcoming 2024 elections.
He spoke at a gathering of business owners and traders at the Abossey Okai business center in the Ablekuma Central Constituency.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh emphasized that this initiative is part of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's broader vision to bring predictability and stability to the prices of imported goods.
The Flat Tax Rate, he explained, will reduce the burden on importers, simplify tax processes, and ultimately contribute to the growth of businesses in Ghana.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh expressed confidence in the enthusiasm and support displayed by the business community at Abossey Okai.
He noted that it reflects a strong commitment to joining the NPP's presidential candidate, Dr. Bawumia, on this journey of possibilities for the nation's economic transformation.
The 2024 Running Mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) also used the opportunity to pay a courtesy call on the Abossey-Okai Chief.
Chief of Abossey Okai, Nii Abossey Okai III, offered prayers for Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh and the NPP, wishing them success in the forthcoming elections.
"The future of Ghana's economy is bright under the leadership of Dr. Bawumia," Dr. Opoku Prempeh concluded, "and with God, it is possible."
