“We Cannot Afford To Play “Chaskele” With The Future Of This Country” – Bawumia Charges Ghanaians
The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has charged the Ghanaian populace not to play ‘chaskele’ with the future of the country by voting into power opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, the opposition NDC has nothing to offer Ghanaians adding voting Mahama into power will be the worse decision ever.
Speaking at the Nation Building Update in Accra on Thursday, Dr. Bawumia said “He is the same John Mahama. He has not changed. Fellow Ghanaians, we cannot afford to play “Chaskele” with the future of this country. On December 7, remember what we have achieved together, and what, we can achieve together over the next four years, and vote to retain Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as President, and for NPP MPs, all of whom are Number 1 on the ballot, so we can deliver once again on our mandate.”
Stressing on a call to action, Vice President Bawumia explained that President Akufo-Addo who sought the mandate of Ghanaians in 2016, created a prosperous society with economic opportunity for the populace.
Dr. Bawumia said “We are on track, having significantly delivered on our mandate. Many have asked: how could an economy that could not pay teacher and nursing training allowances suddenly deliver lower taxes, restore teacher and nursing training allowances, create jobs, implement Free Senior High School education, NABCO, Planting For Food and Jobs, One Village One Dam, One Constituency One Ambulance, reduce electricity tariffs, formalize the economy, industrialize the economy through “One District, One Factory”, and reduce the cost of doing business and restore macroeconomic stability.”
“The question had been asked because it seemed an impossible task by the end of 2016, but we were very confident that, with good economic management and by the grace of God, we could make what seemed impossible possible. And we did; by renewing our mandate and giving us four more years, you will be ensuring that all the hard work over the last four years does not go to waste. This is a real, significant risk. We have been here before” he added.
The Vice Present told the gathering that, in 2009, after the NPP handed a strong economy over to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the incompetent John Mahama and his team virtually collapsed the economy.
Dr. Bawumia appealed to Ghanaians to retain President Akufo-Addo and the NPP in the upcoming elections.
