The Vice President, Dr. Bawumia has hinted that the heartbreaking Bogoso explosion will be investigated thoroughly.
According to him, he has received briefing about the incident adding that the necessary actions will be taken.
Leading a high powered delegation to Apiate, the Veep said "This explosion will be investigated thoroughly"
He added "At least 80 people have died. The numbers will change as we see more, get more and more information"
Dr. Bawumia also mentioned that about 79 families have been affected by the disaster.
The Vice President noted that the Akufo-Addo government is going to do everything to support the funding and those who have been injured.
He lauded the Ghana Ambulance Service for playing a major role in the rescue area.
"To support this whole rescue that took place yesterday the Ghana ambulance service for that effort. We are also looking into how to make sure that all those who are injured are taking care of. Some have been sent to Tarkwa, some are sent to Kumasi, some will be sent to Accra to get the best care"
The Vice President hinted that government is already beginning to think about how to rehabilitate and rebuild for the community.
"So I want to assure that His Excellency the President has given us directives I've already spoken to the State Housing Corporation with them, consultations with the mining community companies. We will quickly try to put in place facilities that will help those who have been displaced. So that is going to be one of priority for all of us"
He reiterated that government is fully engaged in all these processes, adding that the people will be taken care of.
"We are very, very concerned about how to complete this rescue effort to take care of the injured to take care of the families and people who have survived"
