"There Is A Possibility Of A Lockdown And Other Restrictions" – Kojo Oppong Nkrumah Hints

The Information Minister-Designate, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has hinted that the country is likely to go for another lockdown soon if the cases continue to rise.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo together with some individuals are in talks over whether to consider the lockdown or not.

Addressing Journalists on Monday in Accra, he said “There’s a possibility of a lockdown and other restrictions. If this trend continues, then yes that is where we are heading. I have to be very clear on that one that more restrictions could be introduced if this trend continues”

It is emerging that 695 new cases were recorded on January 21, which has seen a rise in the active cases from 3,286 to 3,525.

The country's total case count currently stands at 61,498.
