“Support medical doctors, nurses and other health professionals posted to the region” — Deputy Health Minister to Bono Regional Minister

Deputy Minister for Health, Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, has appealed to the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboah, to support medical doctors, nurses and other health professionals posted to the region to help strengthen healthcare delivery and reduce preventable maternal deaths.

Prof. Dr. Ayensu-Danquah made the appeal during a courtesy call on the Bono Regional Minister on the second day of her official working visit to the region.

The engagement focused on the persistent challenge of maternal mortality and the need for stronger collaboration among the Ministry of Health, Ghana Health Service, Regional Coordinating Council, health facilities and other stakeholders.

She called for support to improve conditions for health workers, particularly at the teaching hospital and other health facilities across the region, stressing that a conducive working environment is essential for the delivery of quality maternal and other essential health services.

The Deputy Minister further urged the Regional Minister to support ongoing efforts to address factors contributing to maternal deaths and improve health outcomes for women and communities in the Bono Region.

Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboah welcomed the engagement and commended the Deputy Minister for her efforts to address maternal mortality and other health challenges.

He expressed his readiness to support initiatives aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery and improving the wellbeing of residents in the region.
