Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Agyapong has blamed the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Aaron Mike Oquaye for his son's defeat saying his own mistake caused him to lose the seat in the recently held Parliamentary Primaries in the Dome Kwabenya Constituency.
According to him, he had wanted to be neutral adding that the Speaker's invitation to rally behind his son, Mike Oquaye Jnr gave him a second thought on his approach to the election.
Speaking on an Accra-based television, the MP said "I have two kids with Adwoa Safo. I wanted to be neutral but the speaker made a mistake by asking me to support his son"
He added that although the Speaker asked him to be on the side of his son, he could not have abandoned his 'Baby Mama'.
The Assin Central MP said "I told him that although I like him, Adwoa is my wife and I can't sideline her for a stranger"
He also revealed that Hon. Adwoa Safo used their kids to trap him to campaign for her.
"I had to support my own. She told me that if I had to come in, she would have lost. It is not about money but the respect. I liase well with the grassroot members"
