
The Speaker of Parliament, RT. Hon. Alban Bagbin has declared the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Independent Candidate for Fomena Constituency, the majority in the 8th Parliament.
According to him, the declaration comes after the Independent Candidate for Fomena, Andrews Amoako officially drew his attention wanting to do business with the NPP faction in Parliament.

Speaking at the floor of Parliament, the Speaker said “What we have now, you have the New Patriotic Party wing or caucus in Parliament together with the independent Member of Parliament from Fomena, and they now constitute the Majority group,”
It will be recalled that after the 2020 December 7 Presidential and Parliamentary election, both the opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC), and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) had 137 seats each with one Independent Candidate.
