“Some Journalists Are Part Of Match-Fixing” – New Edubiase President, Abdul Salam Yakubu

President of Ghana Division One League side, New Edubiase, Abdul Salam Yakubu has said that, ongoing betting and match-fixing scandals in the Ghana football should partly be blamed on some Journalists.


According to the soft spoken football administrator, he knows the names of some journalists and politicians who play huge roles in influencing clubs owners to engage in match rigging.


“Some journalists are part of match-fixing in Ghana football, I know some who influenced games, club owners, and Politicians are all part.” he said on Accra based Angel FM.


Mr Salam mentioned that, in other to have a league free such scandals, we must out an end to the  attitude of match-fixing.


The astute administrator months ago expressed disappointment in how football was being ruined in Ghana and decided to put his club up for sale.


The club has produced top players who represented the nation at different levels and also went on to ply their trades outside Ghana.


Aseidu Attorbrah, Ebenezer Ofori, Moro Ibrahim, Latif Anabila and a few others.


The Bekwai-based club sits 3rd on the Zone 2 table in the ongoing Division One League with 39 points after 24 games.


They face 5th placed Skyy FC on Saturday.
