The Ghana Police Service says it has arrested six suspects for their involvement in an AK 47 transaction.
According to the Police, the six were arrested on Friday, December 3, 2021.
In a statement by the Director-General of Public Affairs, ACP Kwesi Ofori, it said "The first suspect, Alhassan Jamaica, was arrested bear Osino by the National Operations Directorate Highway Patrol during a stop and search operation"
The statement further explained that an AK 47 rifle with twelve rounds of ammunition was found hidden in his travelling bag on board an Accr-Bawku bound Yutoun bus.
It further added that an intelligence-led operation later led to the arrest of five more suspects namely; Bashiru Salifu, Jessica Aninga, Mohammed Asako, James and Ibrahim Mohammed for their involvement in the illegal arms transaction.
