The Minister for Education-Designate, Dr. Yaw Adutwum has hinted that despite the rise in covid-19 cases in the country, schools will remain open.
According to him, lots of measures have been put in place to ensure that the students are safe.
Speaking at the Appointments Committee of Parliament on Thursday, he said "Schools will remain open despite resurgence in Covid-19 cases in the country"
He also told the committee that the Military has been deployed to distribute personal protective equipment (PPEs) to various schools across the country.
"I was assured that initially there were challenges but the military stepped in and they have distributed PPEs to students across the country,” Mr. Adutwum hinted.
Speaking on his refusal of Government absorbing fees of Tertiary students, he explained that the removal of the guarantor system would address the issue.
"Streamline the procedure through which students secure loads. I personally feel strongly that it should be done at the time of applying for the universities,” he noted.
The Minister for Energy-Designate, Dr. Matthew Opoku-Prempeh among others will have their turn on Friday.
