SAPEIMAN: Fire Sweeps EC Office

Reports reaching ThinkNews Online indicates fire has swept the Sapeiman office of the Electoral Commission (EC) in the Ga West Municipality.

Sources say, the fire which began at 2:30am has destroyed lots of equipments being used by the EC.

ThinkNews Online has also gathered that the affected office serves as the Regional Office of the Election Management Body.

Although the cause of the fire is unknown, officials from the Ghana National Fire Service says it will commence investigation today.

It is emerging that the building also serves as the storage of old and used items for the Commission.

Further checks reveals the fire was detected by the policeman and the night watchmen on duty.

The Fire Service has been able to quench the fire.
