Former Black Stars player, Charles Taylor has hit hard at the Ghana Football (GFA) followings its plan to retire the number (7) jersey in honour of late Christian Atsu.
According to Charles Taylor, the plan is needless.
Speaking on an Accra-based television, he said "Retiring Black Stars Jersey number 7 in honour of Atsu is needless!"
He added that even Maradona’s shirt is not retired.
"When was the last time he Atsu was invited to the National team?"
He suggested the building of a monument in honour of the player.
"We can build a monument in one of our stadia to honour his good deeds."
