Renowned Highlife Musician, Dada KD is dead

Ghana has been hit with sad news following reports of the death of celebrated Highlife musician, Nana Kwaku Duah, popularly known as Dada KD.


The cause of his death is yet to be officially confirmed, but tributes have already begun pouring in from fellow musicians and fans across social media.


Content Creator, Afia Schwarzenegger, in a post, wrote: “Ahh, Kwaku Duah, But Why.”

Gospel musician Broda Sammy also mourned him with the words: “Rest in peace champion musician Dada KD.”

Fellow Highlife singer Dada Hafco simply posted: “KD? Chaleee Ei.”

Dada KD’s reported death comes just days ahead of a major concert in London on May 25, where he was scheduled to perform together with Obrafour, Slim Buster, and Kojo Blakk.


Dada KD was revered for timeless Highlife classics including Tekyere Ma, Ene Menye, Wosuro a Wondi, and Honey Love.


His death marks a significant loss to Ghana’s music industry and cultural heritage.
