The National President of the Okada Riders Association of Ghana, Michael Kofi Owusu says he and his members have declared their support for the flagbearer of the largest opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) over his agenda of legalising their operations.
According to him, a win for Mahama will see their operations being legalised and will also create employment for most unemployed youths in the country.
In a statement issued by the association, it described as hypocritical and insincere Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia's promise to the effect that the NPP government intends replacing their motorbikes with vehicles to facilitate their work.
The statement added the association's decision to throw it's weight behind the NDC in this years presidential vote is the latest stage in a raging debate over to legalise or not.
However, the NDC flagbearer's promise was met with a backlash from Government, which described it as populist and a desperate attempt to win votes in this year's presidential elections.
