POLITICS: "NPP's Delivery Tracker Is A Scam Which Can't Be Relied On" – Sammy Gyamfi
National Communications Officer for the largest opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has lashed the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) saying the ‘Delivery Tracker’ introduced to Ghanaians by Vice President, Bawumia a week ago is a scam which cannot be relied on.
According to Mr. Gyamfi, checks by the NDC on the said projects outlined by the NPP turned out to be either 'ghost' or 'stolen' projects.
Addressing Journalists in Accra, Sammy Gyamfi said “As we [NDC] indicated from the outset that there are thousands of stolen projects that were undertaken by the erstwhile Mahama administration and other private entities such as NGO’s which have been presented by the Akufo-Addo government through their so-called Delivery Tracker” He challenged the media to run further checks on the so-called projects emphasising the finding will not be any different from that of the NDC.
“We wish to urge the media to conduct your own independent district by district fact checks of the projects listed by government’s Delivery Tracker and Dr Bawumia during his Town Hall Meeting to ascertain the truth for yourselves. We have no doubt that your independent checks will confirm that the so-called Delivery Tracker is a scam that cannot be relied upon by the media or general public for credible information” he noted. It will be recalled Vice President Bawumia last Tuesday officially launch government's delivery tracker which he mentioned has details of the NPP's completed as well as yet-to-be completed projects.
Dr. Bawumia said "www.deliverytracker.gov.gh is the new tracker. It will assist Ghanaians to know and track the numerous fulfilled and yet-to-be-completed promises being made by the governing NPP since inception of office in 2017" Dr. Bawumia revealed he is confident the new delivery tracker will ensure there is transparency and accountability in the dealings of the Akufo-Addo led administration.
