POLITICS: "I Will Join NPP's Side Of The House" - Andrew Amoako

The Member of Parliament (MP) elected to represent the people of Fomena in the Ashanti Region, Andrews Amoako Asiamah has hinted that he will be joining the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) side of the house come January 2021.

According to him, although he was unfairly treated leaving him to stand as an Independent candidate, he has forgiven and rescinded his decision to move with the NPP.

Addressing Journalists on Wednesday, he said “The issue regarding what side I join has been discussed already. I have said it time without number that I am a member of the NPP by blood. There is nothing that can change that,”

He also revealed that he holds no qualms with the Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Mike Oquaye despite the decision to render his seat vacant in Parliament.

“As far as I’m concerned, the decision was not fair. I was not happy about it. But what can you do? It’s part of life. You take it in your stride and move on.”

He however thanked his constituents for standing by him even when he stood as an Independent Candidate in the recently held Presidential and Parliamentary election.

“The election was not easy for me especially with the decision I took. I contested against big parties like the NPP and NDC but by God’s help, the constituents saw my potential and what I have done. They noticed my humble service and sincerity to the constituency.”
