The Flagbearer for the largest opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has descended heavily on the Chairperson of Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa saying she would have resigned if Ghana was an advanced country.

According to Mr. Mahama, the NDC finds itself where it is currently due to the incompetence of Jean Mensa and her team.

Speaking at Techiman in the Bono-East Region on Wednesday, the NDC Flagbearer said "I must say, things shouldn’t have happened this way. This is not our first election. But unfortunately, we find ourselves here due to the incompetence of this Electoral Commission. If this was a more advanced country, the EC Chairperson would have been forced to resign in shame”

Mr. Mahama who doubles as the Former President of Ghana also added that the Jean Adukwei Mensa-led administration will also find themselves in the history of Ghana as the worst elections management body in the country.

“Ghana has been tagged as the beacon of democracy for a long time, but the EC has soiled our reputation. This EC will go down in history as the worst ever.” he fumed.

Mr. Mahama also revealed that the NDC will not relent till an audit is being done on the results of the 2020 Presidential Elections

“As a party, we are looking at auditing the pink sheets to better understand what happened in each constituency. When we are through, we will publicize our findings,” he mentioned.

The NDC Flagbearer was in the company of the party's General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the National Women’s Organiser, Hannah Bissiw, National Chairman, Ofosu Ampofo, and the Techiman South Parliamentary Candidate, Christopher Beyere, among others.

He visited the region to sympathize with those hospitalized during a clash on election day.
