Police investigate shooting incident involving Sarah Adwoa Safo at Kwabenya

The Ghana Police Service has launched investigations into a shooting incident involving former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, at Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region.


According to a statement issued by the Accra Regional Police Command, preliminary investigations indicate that the incident occurred on Sunday, June 21, 2026, while the former legislator was visiting her late father's residence.


Police say Madam Adwoa Safo sustained a gunshot injury to her left ear and subsequently reported the incident to the Kwabenya Police.

She also presented a Toyota Prado vehicle with registration number GN 3482-24, which had visible gunshot damage.


The victim has been issued a Police Medical Report Form and is currently receiving medical treatment.


Meanwhile, the damaged vehicle has been retained for forensic examination as investigators work to establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting and identify all persons connected to the incident.

The Police have assured the public that investigations are ongoing.
