Police commend public for cooperation during Presidential, Vice-Presidential swearing-in

The Ghana Police Service has extended heartfelt appreciation to the general public for their cooperation during the swearing-in ceremony of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama as President of the Republic of Ghana and Her Excellency Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as Vice President.


The historic event took place on Tuesday, 7th January 2025, in Accra.


In a statement signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs, the Police acknowledged the patience and understanding shown by the public, particularly motorists, despite temporary road closures and traffic diversions in the capital.


“The Ghana Police Service sincerely commends the general public for their understanding and cooperation with the Police during the swearing-in event"

"We particularly thank the motoring public for their patience during the temporary road closures and traffic diversions in Accra,” the statement read.


The statement further emphasized the Police Service’s commitment to maintaining peace, security, and law and order across the country.


The Police also called on the public to continue supporting their efforts in ensuring the safety and stability of the nation.


The successful conduct of the ceremony underscores the importance of collaboration between the public and security agencies in fostering a peaceful and orderly society.
