The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has retrieved three stolen vehicles belonging to GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited from the possession of the company’s former Managing Director, Mr. Maxwell Kofi Jumah.
The vehicles were recovered following a petition submitted by the management of GIHOC, alleging that Mr. Jumah unlawfully took several company vehicles after his tenure.
In a media briefing, DCOP Lydia Yaako Donkor, Director-General of the CID, confirmed the arrest of the former GIHOC boss and the retrieval of the vehicles as part of ongoing investigations.
“We received a formal petition from GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited to the effect that some vehicles belonging to the company had been stolen by Mr. Maxwell Kofi Jumah,” DCOP Donkor stated.
“A warrant for his arrest was properly secured, and on that basis, he was arrested.”
She further indicated that the suspect is currently in police custody and assisting with investigations.
“As of this afternoon, we have successfully retrieved three of the stolen vehicles. Mr. Jumah is cooperating with the investigation, and we will take it from there,” the CID Boss added.
The Police Service has assured the public that the investigation is being conducted with due diligence, and appropriate legal action will follow upon its conclusion.
