A 14-year-old juvenile and four other suspects have been arrested for carrying out robbery activities on highways linking Nkoranza and Techiman in the Bono East Region and the Ejura Sekyedumase Municipal area of the Ashanti Region.
The four other suspects are Ajara Sagu, Rashid Ibrahim, Ibrahim Iddrisu, and Musah Arijuma.
They were arrested by the police in Ejura on 16 November 2021, after general police surveillance was conducted on their activities.

They also retrieved an AK-47 assault rifle and arrested one of the armed robbers.
“Today, the Ashanti Regional Police Patrol team gunned down two armed robbers, arrested one, and retrieved an AK 47 assault rifle when the team encountered an armed gang robbing traders on the Manso-Nkwanta road,” the police posted on Facebook. “We will get these criminally minded people one after the other to make our communities safe.”
Buokrom The anti-robbery task force of the Ashanti Regional Police Command also shot dead three suspected armed robbers in an intelligence-led operation in Buokrom Estate last week.
The suspects were among an armed gang who engaged the police in a shootout in the town.
However, the police did manage to arrest one of them, an official statement said.
“Police in the Ashanti Region on Thursday, 4 November 2021. undertook an intelligence-led operation that has resulted in the arrest of one robbery suspect and the death of three other suspects who sustained gunshot wounds during the operation.”
“Following the intelligence received that an attack was being planned on a businessman at Buokrom Estate, the Regional Police anti-Robbery Taskforce personnel mounted a search screening operation of all vehicles entering the estate. During the search, the four suspects who were in a car attempted to fire at the personnel who were undertaking the operation, ” the statement added.
The personnel fired back injuring three of the men who later died from the gunshot wounds at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. One suspect connected to the planned robbery was arrested.
