"Only accredited persons will be granted access to the collation centres" – ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi

The Ghana Police Service has stressed that only accredited persons will be granted access to the various collation centres across the country.

According to the Police Service, this move will ensure law and order at the collation centres.

Speaking at the National Election Security Taskforce Press Centre at the Police Headquarters, ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs, emphasized that all individuals entering collation centres across the country will undergo thorough screening.

She stated, “Only accredited persons will be granted access to the collation centres"

"These include the media, candidates and their agents, accredited observers, and any other individuals or groups officially recognized by the Electoral Commission (EC).”

ACP Ansah-Akrofi further outlined additional security protocols aimed at maintaining safety and order.

Unauthorized vehicles will not be permitted within the premises of the collation centres, while motorbikes will be restricted within a 100-meter radius of these areas.

“These arrangements are in line with standard practices at the national level during Presidential and Parliamentary Elections,” she noted.

The Police Service has urged all stakeholders to adhere strictly to these measures and ensure full cooperation to facilitate a smooth and peaceful electoral process.
