Dr. Sammy Ayeh, a prominent member of the NDC Communications Team, has issued a stern warning to the leadership of the NPP, including Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
According to Dr. Ayeh, these key figures and other bigwigs in the NPP will find themselves facing the law within the first six months of the incoming NDC administration in 2025.
Speaking on ThinkTv's political talkshow, SE NO PEI, Dr. Ayeh accused the NPP of using the Power Distribution Services (PDS) deal as a "cash cow" for their own financial gain.
"Bawumia played a crucial role in this, by changing a bank guarantee to a weak insurance cover, which caused the country to lose billions of cedis. This is just one example of the NPP's corrupt practices," he stated.
He also referenced allegations made by Charles Adu Boahen, who claimed that a payment of 2 billion cedis was necessary just to secure a meeting with Dr. Bawumia.
"These are serious accusations that have been conveniently swept under the rug. But under the NDC, no one will be above the law," Dr. Ayeh declared.
Furthermore, Dr. Ayeh pointed to the involvement of Victor Kusi Boateng, also known as Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, in the controversial National Cathedral project.
"Gyewu is the PRO for the National Cathedral and a member of its board. He, too, will be investigated for his role in this scandalous project."
Contrasting this with the accountability of former President John Mahama, Dr. Ayeh emphasized, "Mahama is a leader who believes in accountability. When he received the Ford Expedition, he handed it over to the government rather than keeping it for personal use. This is the kind of transparency the NDC stands for."
Dr. Ayeh also criticized the NPP's recently launched manifesto, describing it as "a rebranding of retold lies and stolen promises" from the NDC.
"On 2nd October 2020, Mahama pledged to train one million coders. The NPP has tried to repurpose our ideas and present them as their own, but Ghanaians will not be fooled."
He continued, "In 2016 and 2017, 320,000 students started free day school under Mahama’s administration. It’s clear that the foundations of Free SHS were laid by the NDC, yet the NPP tries to claim all the credit. Their manifesto is nothing more than repackaged lies."
Dr. Ayeh also highlighted several unfulfilled promises by Dr. Bawumia, including the commitment to build 16 Islamic schools, which has yet to materialize.
"Bawumia went to the Chief Imam and made this promise, but to this day, nothing has been done. The NPP cannot be trusted."
The NPP’s failure to deliver on their 2020 telemedicine promise was also a point of contention.
"They promised telemedicine in 2020, but where is it? Nowhere to be found. Their entire manifesto is nothing to write home about."
Dr. Ayeh further mocked Bawumia’s management style, pointing out that "His implementation of 50 ministers is a joke, and his office is bloated with 25 secretaries and a campaign team of over 300 people. This is not the leadership Ghana needs."
In conclusion, Dr. Ayeh expressed confidence that the NPP's misleading manifesto would ultimately lead them to opposition.
"The people of Ghana see through their lies and broken promises. The NDC will restore accountability and integrity to governance."
