Government's spokesperson on governance and security, Palgrave Boakye-Danquah has chosen Vice-President, Mahamudu Bawumia, and four others as his top five picks in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential race.

The other four are the MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, former minister for trade and industry, Alan Kyerematen, former energy minister, Boakye Agyarko and former attorney general and minister for justice, Joe Ghartey.

The governing NPP will hold a super delegates’ congress on 26 August to reduce the 10 presidential aspirants to five.

Speaking on Asaase 99.5 Accra’s news analysis and current affairs show – The Forum – on Saturday, Boakye-Danquah said he is optimistic his prediction will come through because the quintet standout among the lot.

The party will then hold its main internal poll on 4 November to elect a presidential candidate for the general elections taking place on 7 December 2024.
