"No Fire Has Gutted The Bank, It Was A Simulation Exercise" - Bank Of Ghana

The Bank of Ghana through its Facebook page is asking the general public to disregard reports that fire has gutted the bank.

According to the Facebook post, the smoke which emanated from its premises was a routine fire drill, a simulation exercise which it has been organising for its staff.

In the Facebook post, it said "The Bank, today, Thursday, 8th December 2022, conducted a routine fire drill (simulation exercise) to prepare staff for real-time fire situation"

It added that the exercise was conducted in collaboration with the Ghana National Fure Service, National Ambulance Service and Ghana Police Service.

It also noted that as a public facility, routine fire drill is necessary for testing the efficiency and preparedness of the Bank's safety systems to manage emergencies like fire and inculcate in the staff of the Bank fire safety evacuation procedures.
