A forty-five (45) man delegation led by the Commandant of the Nigerian Naval War College, Rear Admiral Akinwande on Tuesday 19th July, 2022 paid a working visit to the Economic and Organised Crime Office in Accra.
The delegation was met by the Executive Director of EOCO, COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah. She welcomed the members of the delegation and thanked them for their visit.
The Commandant of the College expressed how glad they were to visit EOCO.
He expressed his appreciation for the reception accorded them by COP Addo-Danquah and her Deputies.
He said the purpose of the visit to Ghana was opportune especially because of the roles played by the two countries in the sub-region with respect to piracy and maritime crimes.
He added that considering the role of EOCO in the fight against organised crimes it was the right institution to visit and interact with.
Mr. Leo Antony Siamah Esq. made a presentation to the delegation foccusing on the history, objects and mandate of EOCO.
Mr. Abu Issah Esq, Head of Legal in addition took the Naval Officers through the confiscation of Assets as well as Assets recovery.
He mentioned that EOCO has a very effective collaboration with other agencies in Ghana and the sub region. He highlighted the existing MOU with the EFCC of Nigeria.
The Deputy Executive Director in charge of Operations, Nana Antwi of EOCO mentioned that there is always effective collaboration between EOCO and other agencies when a request from those agencies falls within the mandate of EOCO.
COP Addo-Danquah wished the delegation well in their study tour.
Present at the meeting were the Deputy Executive Director Intelligence (Aba J. Opoku,Esq) and Senior officers of EOCO.
