The National Identification Authority (NIA) says it is in the process of finalizing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Electoral Commission (EC) for the rollout of the continuous registration exercise.
Ghana over the years has expended lots of money on capturing the details of eligible voters within a specific period of time.
Concerns have been raised that persons who turn 18 after the registration exercise usually get disenfranchised due to the unavailability of a proper database.
However, in a bid to address the situation, the NIA says it is on verge of concluding a memorandum of understanding with the EC to begin the continuous registration process for all those who will turn 18 years of age.
Professor Ken Attafuah, the Executive Secretary of the National Identification Authority has been speaking to the media at the Information Ministry's meet the press series which was held in Accra Wednesday.
