The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has formally requested a live broadcast of its upcoming presentation of observations on the Provisional Voters Register (PVR) for 2024.
The party believes that such transparency will ensure public confidence in the electoral process.
In a letter signed by NDC General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the party addressed the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, stating that the live broadcast would align with the Commission's commitment to openness, as reflected in its motto.
The request comes ahead of a scheduled meeting between the NDC and the Electoral Commission on Friday, September 6, 2024.
"We believe this live broadcast will give true meaning to transparency and provide the public with real-time insights into our findings on the PVR," the letter emphasized.

The NDC’s call underscores the party’s push for greater visibility and accountability in the lead-up to the 2024 general elections.
The letter, which was sent from the NDC’s headquarters in Accra, expressed confidence that the Electoral Commission would cooperate with the request, noting that the party looks forward to the usual attention and support from the Commission.
The NDC’s observations of the Provisional Voters Register are expected to cover various aspects of the electoral roll, with a focus on ensuring that it is accurate and free from discrepancies.
As the election season intensifies, the party’s push for a live broadcast highlights the broader call for transparency in Ghana’s electoral processes.
