National Chief Imam To Lead Eid-Ul Ahda Prayers At Newly Commissioned National Mosque (Picture)


The National Chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Osman Sharubutu will be leading this year’s Eid-Ul Ahda prayers and celebrations at the newly commissioned National Mosque at Nima in Accra.


In a press release sighted by Thinknewsonline.com, it said "However, Muslim communities who have the capacity to control its congregation and ensure that strict adherence of the covid-19 protocols is observed May choose to perform the Eid prayer on parks and open spaces, the Jummah mosques may also be utilised for Eid prayer, in order to serve the weak and vulnerable members of the community"


The National Chief Imam further cautioned the Muslim communities ensures that each of its members wears a nose mask to the prayer ground.


He added that adequate provision of Veronica buckets, water, hand washing soaps and sanitizers should be placed at vantage points at the prayer grounds.


"The usage of sachet water is recommended for purposes of ablution. Appropriate social distancing/spacing between individual worshippers and between rows should be observed effectively"


His Eminence stressed that the usage of personal mats is highly recommended adding that worshippers are advised to carry along their mat to the prayer ground.


"If possible thermometer guns should be utilised to check out for high temperature of worshippers.


He appealed to the Muslim community to protect each other and prevent the widespread of the corona virus especially the delta variant.


The event is expected to commence at exactly 9am.
