The Minister of Energy designate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has rendered an apology to the Flagbearer and Running Mate of the opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, and Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang over some comments he made when he was the Minister for Education.
According to him, given the opportunity, he will not frame such comments against the two leaders.
Answering questions at the Vetting Committee in Parliament, NAPO said " I did not attack them but given another opportunity, I will not frame such comments again. I therefore apologise"
The apology comes after the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa drew Dr. Prempeh’s attention to comments he made on various media platforms during his tenure pertaining to former President Mahama in respect of the school placement exercise in 2019, as well as other comments pertaining to his immediate predecessor, Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang.
The gesture exhibited by the former Minister of Education, won the hearts of the panel on the vetting committee hence earning their respect.
